We have an immediate opening for a part-time marketing specialist intern to support federal, state and local contracts involving goal attainment, digital transformation, business transformation, software implementation, system integration and performance optimization for customers based primarily in the Virginia, Washington, D.C. area.
• Report to the project manager
• Attend project and company meetings
• Perform digital marketing audits on small businesses to identify performance gaps
• Assist in making recommendations to close the performance gaps
• Research information on social media and other digital channels
• Assist in developing business social media pages
• Assist in creating ad content for small businesses
• Assist in developing branding approaches
• Assist in developing e-commerce approaches
• Create digital ad campaigns
• A/B test ads and landing pages
• Assist in developing web content for small businesses e.g. blogs, articles, posts, etc.
• Research tools, techniques and services needed to fulfill project
• Perform search engine optimization (SEO)
• Create content calendars and message maps
• Proofread deliverables
• Create email marketing templates and manage email marketing
• Build proposal templates
• Recommend tools, techniques and services that can improve internal & external processes
• Perform administrative tasks as needed such as scheduling meetings, completing forms, emailing
• Pursuing marketing or related degree
• Ability to work remotely during the day
• Personal computer with reliable internet access and web camera
• Proficient in social media business applications e.g. Facebook, Google, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
• Knowledgeable of Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Facebook Ads, etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Office, Outlook, Excel, Word
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Ability to communicate effectively

Work schedule is dictated by the project schedule. Work can be performed after hours, but meetings must be attended at the stated times. Reasonable exceptions may be accommodated if possible, but shall not be expected. Workload is anticipated to be 20-30 hours per week.

The marketing specialist intern will have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of professional marketing. Additionally, they will be able to learn about how a business operates and be a part of a growing company. The intern will have access to leadership, and they will have the ability to learn directly from the CEO and president of the company. They will also be exposed to other areas of the company such as project development, engineering, business development, customer service and compliance.
